...1. Insert collection device into the endocervix until only the bottom-most bristles are exposed at the os. Slowly rotate 1/4-1/2 turn in one direction. To reduce unnecessary bleeding, do not over-rotate device. Remove collection device. 2. Rinse the collection device in the PreservCyt Solution by rotating the device in the solution 10 times while pushing against the vial walls. Swirl the brush vigorously to further release material. Discard the collection device. Do not let the collection device sit in the vial. 3. Tighten the PreservCyt vial cap on the vial. Label PreservCyt vial with patient name and send to lab with cytology requistion in a specimen bag.
